SUZAN WILSON

Soprano

Suzan Wilson is a native of Central Florida but considers herself a "Carolina Girl" since moving to Charleston in 2009 with her husband and son.  She is a graduate of Brigham Young University, where she degreed in Spanish and Music.  Suzan had the honor of singing under the direction of Dr. Mack Wilberg in BYU's Concert Choir.  After college, Suzan found great joy in teaching young children to have passion for music and foreign languages. She has taught Spanish and Music for over twenty years in classroom and various settings as well as private vocal and piano lessons. One of Suzan's favorite musical accomplishments is that of the roles of Assistant Director and Soprano Soloist for Central Florida's Messiah Choir from 1995-2004.  Another musical experience Suzan cherishes while in Orlando was that of singing soprano for The Caroling Company during the holiday season.  Upon settling in Charleston, she discovered that there was no professional caroling company in the Lowcountry.  In 2013, Suzan founded and organized The Charleston Caroling Company, which started with a few quartets dressed in Victorian-era clothing, performing for holiday events.  This quickly grew to over thirty singers. In 2017, she created a children's caroling troupe, The Little Dickens, in hopes to inspire youth to learn a cappella part singing of timeless carols.  Suzan, her husband, son, and daughter run a family business, Safewater Electric, and perform together as often as possible in their spare time. Suzan is indebted to her talented parents who instilled a love for music from a very young age and hopes that her musical children will continue the legacy of sharing beautiful music with this world.
