
HANNAH BENNETT
Mezzo-Soprano
Hannah Bennett, mezzo-soprano, is a recent graduate of Berkeley Center for the Arts (BCA) at Goose Creek High School where she studied vocal/choral performance under Emily Reeves Bohl and John Stoudenmire. During her time at BCA, Hannah was an active member in the choral department. She was a founding member of Goose Creek High’s treble choir, Sziréndal, was in the Chamber Choir, and was a founding member of Berkeley County’s first a cappella group, Creekappella. Hannah served as a section leader for all four years of high school across various ensembles and sections. From 2021-22, she was elected as Vice-President of Sziréndal, and from 2022-23, she was elected as Vice-President of Chamber Choir. Finally, from 2023-24, she was elected to be Co-President of the choral department along with fellow King’s Counterpoint member Aniyah Gordon.
Hannah has been grateful to receive numerous accolades while in choir at Goose Creek High School. Her peers awarded her with the Outstanding Freshman, Most Valuable Soprano, Most Valuable Singer, Outstanding Sophomore, Student Leader Award, Most Valuable Soprano II, Outstanding Junior, and Most Valuable Treble Voice awards. She was also given the esteemed Choral Citizenship award as a senior. Hannah could be seen at Berkeley All-County Chorus (2022-24), and the South Carolina Music Educator’s Association (SCMEA) All-State Chorus (2023-24). Hannah was a featured soloist in Sziréndal’s performance at the SCMEA conference in 2024. She was also seen on stage at BCA in the roles of Aunt Em/Glinda (The Wizard of Oz) and Marmee (Little Women).
Hannah is currently studying Music Education at Furman University. She is a member of the Furman Singers and the Furman Chamber Choir. Hannah studies voice under Dr. Craig Price. While at school, she is a hired section leader at Open Hearts United Methodist Church. When she is home, she has the pleasure of singing at the Church of the Holy Spirit.
